In the December newsletter, Marc Herrick said the board selected Ron’s Custom Craft to do the bathroom renovations. Marc failed to says that Ron's Custom Craft is owned by Marc's father-in-law. Nor did Marc mention that Southlands was owed $17,000 in unpaid annual dues from 2008. Now Southlands has less than $5,000 in the bank.

Fantastic info... How did you get that information? If the contractor was RELATED, perhaps we need to see ALL the bids?? Conflict of Interest??

I always thought it was fishy that Marc's brother was an officer or something at the bank that was to loan the money for the new clubhouse. And that information was volunteered by Marc at the homeowners meeting.

I have been exchanging emails with Marc and the board about these matters for a while. Also, Southlands has a Muzak account (music at pool) in which Marc Herrick is the account rep. He told that he does not get any financial benefit from. I have asked Marc if he was paid a contrator for his work on the bathrooms but he as yet to reply. Maybe you all could ask the same question to him. Yesterday, I emailed the board requesting a YTD to budget.

This not personal. Marc and the board have good ideas but I don't think they understand the realities of the economy and times that we live in. If Southlands is owed 17K from 2008, I don't think 2009 will be any better.

Funny, I offered them a better, more functional website including forums and such for less than they're paying now... Marc said NO due to conflict of interest...
