Another new James Bond? Hmm. Makes you wonder. They made the first dozen or so films with just two actors... And they're on the 3rd for the last 4 movies. What's wrong with this picture? I really loved Pierce Brosnan in the role. I've liked him since Remmington Steele, actually. But one thing about the Bond movies that always remains in your mind is the opening credits, and the music that goes with them. Where am I going with this? Well, Daniel Craig is a fine actor - loved him in Layer Cake . If you've not seen that, you ought to. A dramatic illustration of how the best layed plans can easily run afoul of Murphy's Law. But will he make a great James Bond? Time will tell, I suppose. They're remaking a good one here, with Casino Royale, so it's a great chance to get a new twist on the franchise. So, I'm driving down the road thinking about this new James Bond, having heard more about it on a local morning radio show - some blurb about people joining the cast, you know, whatever they can tell you in 30 seconds, and then I popped in a CD - I hate the blabber and commercials in the morning on Radio. And what does the little "random" feature of my CD player hit me with? Perfect Strangers from INXS new album, SWITCH. . And my mind immediately, without a moments delay, connects that song with James Bond. What a joy and wonder that would be, to have a song like Perfect Strangers as the opening to Casino Royale!

Oh Brother - What a value! Over the last 18 years I've had occasion to use a LOT of technology. I've evaluated technology for a world wide hotel chain, and developed strategies and recommendations for implementations - right down to the product level. So, this little article is going to tell you about a company I've had occasion to deal with both Professionally, and Personally. I'm talking about Brother. You may have heard of them. You'll see their printer / multifunction devices in some national office supply stores, and their sewing machines at major retailers. What makes them different is value and service. MFC-5440CN - a Review: I recently obtained an MFC-5440CN. Retail $199.00, street price slightly lower depending on where you buy. Now, this model has been in their line for a while (a year?), and it just amazed me.

Las Vegas...The good, the bad, the NOISE!So, the one thing that I can do without, when visiting Las Vegas, is the NOISE. I love that place. Well, love is not the right word. It's fun. I could live there - no worries about mowing the lawn - it's desert! And my allergies didn't bother me at all. What am I talking about? This past weeked (January 27-30), my lovely wife took me on a little trip. The purpose of the trip was two-fold. First, we've not been alone away from the kids in over a year... nearly 2, I think. The second was to fulfill a little fantasy of hers and see INXS and their new lead singer J.D. Fortune in concert. She must have wanted both of these things pretty bad (which one did she want more...?), because she does not like flying. I can't figure out why, but that's just the way she is.

January 31, 2006 - Really? Already?Ok, So it's been a while since I've posted an update. It's been busy around here. Brianna brought home a friend's computer - completely infested with Viruses and Spyware. The darn thing has taken DAYS of hands on work to get cleaned up. Uggh. So, what else is new. My Dad is a year older. Matt got his Learners Permit (if that does not make you feel old, nothing will). OH, and Beth (my lovely wife) took me to Las Vegas this past weekend! What fun we had! It's always great when you leave Las Vegas without loosing all of your money. And we got to see the reconstituted INXS! I'll post more about that in another article.
Last but not least, I got my Gas bill. Holy S! A full 30% higher than last year. Part of it was because of certain persons and their thermostat touching... but not all of it. Most of it was due to the increase in Natural Gas costs. And yet, the socialist democrats in Congress won't let us drill in Anwar... and their environmentalist friends don't want us to build any more refineries either... I say F*&K them. Want to solve our energy problems? Build about 25 nuclear reactors out in New Mexico / Nevada to feed the power to the West and Mid West. Then build 2 or more in each state east of the Mississipi. Build a few along the gulf coast of Texas too - and use those to desalienate ocean water for the South Western states, and crack the water into Hydrogen to use as a fuel. Oh, I could go on... but you see, environmentalism is an attempt to subvert the economy of this great country.
