January 31, 2006 - Really? Already?Ok, So it's been a while since I've posted an update. It's been busy around here. Brianna brought home a friend's computer - completely infested with Viruses and Spyware. The darn thing has taken DAYS of hands on work to get cleaned up. Uggh. So, what else is new. My Dad is a year older. Matt got his Learners Permit (if that does not make you feel old, nothing will). OH, and Beth (my lovely wife) took me to Las Vegas this past weekend! What fun we had! It's always great when you leave Las Vegas without loosing all of your money. And we got to see the reconstituted INXS! I'll post more about that in another article.
Last but not least, I got my Gas bill. Holy S! A full 30% higher than last year. Part of it was because of certain persons and their thermostat touching... but not all of it. Most of it was due to the increase in Natural Gas costs. And yet, the socialist democrats in Congress won't let us drill in Anwar... and their environmentalist friends don't want us to build any more refineries either... I say F*&K them. Want to solve our energy problems? Build about 25 nuclear reactors out in New Mexico / Nevada to feed the power to the West and Mid West. Then build 2 or more in each state east of the Mississipi. Build a few along the gulf coast of Texas too - and use those to desalienate ocean water for the South Western states, and crack the water into Hydrogen to use as a fuel. Oh, I could go on... but you see, environmentalism is an attempt to subvert the economy of this great country. |

Kerry want's a Filibuster of Alito - and looses that too...I guess that there is not a lot to say beyond that. Kerry flys to Europe and uses his trip there to insult the policies of anti-terrorism and freedom that President Bush supports. He cries out that Alito's confirmation to the supreme court needs to be blocked, but before he can even get back from Europe, his leftist pals in the Senate decide that they can't muster support for a Filibuster. Looks like the Court is moving slowly back to it's Constitutional perogative, and away from what the Socialist Democrats in our country were hoping for. Yippie! |

More on Over Indulgent parents and the Xbox 360.First, let me give some background on this thing called the Xbox 360. Technology wise, it truely is a masterpiece. 3 processor cores and video that is out of this world. That said, it's nothing but another video game if you hook it up to a regular television. |

What is it about parents that can't say no?Now, I love my kids just as much (no, probably more) than anyone. But there is no way on earth that I would cave in to my kids demand to have an Xbox 360 for Christmas. But there are hundreds, no, THOUSANDS of parents who are doing just this. Best Buy got a shipment of these cool toys some weeks ago - on "Launch day", and there were over 250 people in line prior to the midnight opening. Of course, I was on hand - working - to help these people understand networking of the units, etc. So we're getting MORE of them. The truck arrived late today, and they'll be available tomorrow (sunday) morning. There were over 60 people in line when I pulled up to work at 3pm Saturday afternoon.... and it's cold outside. [4:48am Sunday, December 18] Here I am again. The lovely wife Beth sent me to bed before I could finish this. I'm up now, making coffee so I can get to the store for a 6am meeting. Not my favorite thing, but come January these things will be back to their normal 8:30am meeting times... |
