November 21 2005 - "T-4 to Black Friday" Working In Retail Retail can be great. Lots of new people to meet. Discounts on goodies. But you don't get time off around the Holidays. And, truely, I've gotten USED to time off around the Holidays. Christmas and Thanksgiving just about every other company slows down. But now that I'm working at Best Buy, all things have changed.

Ok, these are indeed random thoughts: 1 - What is the difference between a geek and a nerd? - a geek knows he's a geek, a nerd is clueless.
- a geek can get the girl, a nerd? not so much.
2 - Why is the "establishment" so against the Fair Tax? That one is easy. Because it takes the vote buying power away from politicians. With the Fair Tax in play, politicians can no longer say "hmm, I'll lower YOUR taxes and tax the evil rich if you vote for me". Now, I'm certainly not "rich". Quite the opposite, actually. But even I can see the benefit in this - especially to the point of taking power away from politicians. Click me to order at Amazon!

Ok, so it's really starting to get to me... We have elected all of these fine Republican leaders, and yet, it's hard to tell the difference between them and their friends on the left side of the fence... First, they vote for a billion tons of pork in the budget, including a bridge to an island in Alaska that is home to what, 3000 people? I think the cost of the bridge is something equivalent to flying all 3000 people back and forth to the 'mainland' every month for a decade...

The Quinaln Visual Arts center, a not for profit museum and art education center in Gainesville, Georgia, recently unveiled their new website. The site was designed by John Stegenga (aka host-my-site.com), with help and support from the Quinlan staff. A good bit of credit for the template design goes to Arnoldo Tijerina - an internet friend of mine. He helped me get the template working the way it should - something that would have taken me many hours. One of the cool things about the internet is that even though he's a competitor (for website design and hosting) he was willing to help me with this template problem. Arnoldo runs his service, uncutdesign.com, down in Florida. Please visit the Quinlan Website! Their giftshop should be online soon!
