|Christmas Is Coming!!|

Yes, I said it. Christmas is coming!
You won't get any "PC" happy holidays out of me. Well, maybe occasionally at work I'll say it, but it is all about Christ that we're doing this stuff this time of year. Celebrating the birth of the baby Jesus.
Yes, I know that there is academic debate that his actual birth occured sometime in September, and that the early Christian Church moved the holiday to co-incide with and absorb a more pagan holiday (Wassaling, I think it was...). But that's not the point.
The point is, if a Christian were to keep a muslim from celebrating some holy day it would be a hate crime.
If a Christian were to tear down a jewish religeous symbol, that too would be a hate crime.
So, why is it ok for the socialist left in this country to abuse the "separation of church and state" provision in the constitution to conduct a protracted campaign against Christianity? Is that not too a hate crime?
A young man I work with emegrated from Russia. In Russia, Communism was the state religeon. They divested holidays and traditions of their religeous meaning - celebrating Christmas as a "new year" holiday on December 31, for example. Same tree, presents, decorations, etc., but celebrating the new year, not the birth of Christ.
Is this what the socialists want here? Supressing religeon supresses moral values. Now, that's not saying I'm a religeous nut, because I'm not. I don't think I've been to church for a service in nearly a decade, unless you count this "christening" we went to for a friend of Beth's at some "unitarian" church (and that is another story in it's own right...).
But Christians have been taught, for decades, to "turn the other cheek". When will we get tired of it? Has turning the other cheek become "it's ok for everyone to persecute you"?
Just a few thoughts of mine as this great holiday approaches. Things are tight here at the household, so the meaning - more than the gifts - is what it's about for me this year.
