God Bless US Veterans!

September 11, 2001 - Never Forget!

The islamic fundamentalist terrorists declared open war on western civilization on that day.  They brought down two symbols of what civilized educated people can do.  They want the world to return to the desert, ruled by Imans and Mullahs, and they will not stop until this happens - UNLESS WE KEEP UP THE FIGHT!

September 11NINE years at war.  No appeasement, just victory!

The Democrats want to cut and run.  The media want you to forget, and appease.  A Mosque near Ground Zero? Really? Why can't we have the Ten Commandments in a court house, but we can have foot washing stations for muslims? Is that what America is about?  Really?

No ViiV for me!
Written by John

So, Intel wants us all to believe ViiV is the answer to happy convergence of MultiMedia and the PC.  Well, there will be no ViiV for me.

Why?  Take this quote from PC Magazine:

"ViiV will have DRM protection to make sure you're watching or listening to legal programming. This means that ViiV-certified content may not be sharable unless you view it on other ViiV-certified equipment, which may make existing components such as Windows Media extenders obsolete unless they have updatable firmware."

DRM is the bane of freedom.  It limits the way and the how of what you do with content that you obtain - free off the air TV can now be infested with DRM.  CD's that you buy can install "root kits" into your operating sytem - basically viruses! - to control what you do with the music.

Sorry, if I want to buy a CD and make 2 copies of it so I can leave one in each of my cars to use when I'm riding around, so be it.  DRM does not prevent the "PIRATE" from stealing and making illegal copies - this is already been proven.  What it does is complicate how honest people can use what they've bought.

Just my 2 cents.
