A solution other than the Fair Tax?
A few days ago a person who calls himself John W K (JWK) posted a comment to my article on the fair tax rally. In truth, because it was entirely 'links' to other sites, I did not authorize the comment to be posted. Instead, I emailed him and asked him to state his point without using off-site links.
Well, for the most part, he's done so, and his commentary will follow - our first guest comment on the Fair Tax.
So, without further ado, here is the (rather inflammatory comment - complete and un-edited - from John W K.
Now, I've read what his links have to say, and believe it or not, I do agree with removing the tax burden enirely from the people and placing it on those outside this country who would wish to do business here. However, I am also wise enough to know that we have to fix what we're working with first. After that - after we get the power of the purse strings away from the K Street Lobbyists - then we can get some real fiscal conservatism going in this country.
The biggest problem we face is the fact that our fathers, and our fathers fathers, saw the prosperity of this country and decided - through decades of Democratic party control of the Congress - to create a great entitlement state.
So, I say pass the fair tax, shut down the IRS, and then dismantle the enormous entitlement engine that the socialist democrats in this country saw fit to create to punish success and reward mediocrity.
